Citrix today announced that it has been positioned in the Leaders category in the IDC MarketScape: Worldwide Client Virtualization 2012 Vendor Analysis (Doc # 237753), November 2012. Citrix was placed in the Leaders category and this selection was based on the company providing a complete portfolio for virtual desktops and applications with FlexCast in Citrix XenDesktop®, as well as a comprehensive set of technologies, including Citrix XenServer®, Citrix Branch Repeater™ and Citrix NetScaler®, that are needed to successfully implement enterprise-wide virtual desktops and apps. In addition, IDC cited the continued focus on enabling end-user productivity. This is the second year in a row that Citrix has been positioned in the Leaders category of the IDC MarketScape vendor analysis. The IDC MarketScape: Client Virtualization 2012 Vendor Analysis is available from IDC and on the Citrix website here.
Citrix provides a complete solution for virtual apps and desktops. Despite the hype around VDI — which is just one dimension of a complete virtualization portfolio — the company never lost sight of solving its customers’ problem — end-user productivity. It is this forward thinking that has put Citrix in the leadership position.
